Joseph Manuel was trained as a Dairy Technologist at the National Dairy Research Institute, Bangalore (1971-73) and worked with dairy cooperatives (1973-79) during the early phase of India’s Operation Flood Program. He was Associate Fellow at the Institute of Management in Government, Kerala (1981-84) and headed one of the largest fishery co-operatives (1985 – 2007). The experience of going through a part time MBA (1977-79) followed by two years at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (PGP,1979-81) and the challenges of working with the eco-system people led him to independent research to develop a visual tool to accelerate the management development process, mastery of a critical set of sustained high performance competencies. Sankar Radhakrishnan is a writer, editor and communications consultant. A director of the Society for Community Learning, he has been a business reporter, features writer, travel writer and editor with some of India’s largest media companies. With post-graduate qualifications in management and journalism, he has written extensively on tourism, travel, hospitality and management trends, besides advertising, marketing, information technology and infrastructure. Sankar has been a part of the dialogue on First Discipline for over a decade and has co-facilitated several First Discipline workshops.
